Ready! Set! Read! // Highly Anticipated September Releases!

Greetings fellow book dragons!
This is a new monthly addition featuring new release books that I have my eye on and perhaps you may be interested in as well!  I have also included children’s books since I’m always on the look out for new items for my boys!  Please click on the links for more info and buying options!  And just a friendly reminder that your local library is a great resource for materials as well!

Leave Me by Gayle Forman (September 6, 2016)

I love this author and only just found out last night in fact that she had something new coming out!  I love the synopsis of this one:

For every woman who has ever fantasized about driving past her exit on the highway instead of going home to make dinner, for every woman who has ever dreamed of boarding a train to a place where no one needs constant attention–meet Maribeth Klein. A harried working mother who’s so busy taking care of her husband and twins, she doesn’t even realize she’s had a heart attack.

Afterward, surprised to discover that her recuperation seems to be an imposition on those who rely on her, Maribeth does the unthinkable: She packs a bag and leaves. But, as is so often the case, once we get to where we’re going, we see our lives from a different perspective. Far from the demands of family and career and with the help of liberating new friendships, Maribeth is finally able to own up to secrets she has been keeping from those she loves and from herself.

 This just sounds fantastic!
The Perfect Girl by Gilly MacMillan (September 6, 2016)
My book club read her first book What She Knew in March and I loved it.  I immediately began waiting for this one to come out and can’t wait to read it!

To everyone who knows her now, Zoe Maisey – child genius, musical sensation – is perfect. Yet several years ago, Zoe caused the death of three teenagers. She served her time. And now she’s free.

Her story begins with her giving the performance of her life.

By midnight, her mother is dead.

This is an intricate exploration into the mind of a teenager burdened by brilliance. It’s a story about the wrongs in our past not letting go and how hard we must fight for second chances.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco (September 20, 2016)
This one popped up on my radar after having recently read a mystery/thriller about a copy cat Jack the Ripper serial killer in modern day England.

Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

Three Dark Crowns by Kenare Blake (September 20, 2016)
This one sounded amazing to me and I really hope it turns out that way!

Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

Celebrations by Danielle Walker (September 20, 2016)
These recipes are designed for gluten-free, dairy free, and paleo diets, but the idea with this book was to create foods that you could eat during holidays or other celebrations without feeling as though you were missing out.  I have her previous cookbooks and the recipes are wonderful!  The design of these books is everything you would want in a cookbook with pictures for every recipe.  They are simply beautiful.

For the Kiddos!

So these are some of the books that I am looking forward to in the month of September.  I could list a lot more children’s books, but I’ll keep it to a handful for now!

Are there any books you are looking forward to this month?
