Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme within the book community that was created by Lainey of GingerReadsLainey, but is now hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes. If you’re interested in participating, find out more on the Goodreads group.
This week’s topic is Books You Will Finally Read in 2017! These are the books that you meant to read in 2016, 2015, 2014, or even earlier like in my case and just never got around to it. These books have been sitting on your TBR for a while and you really want to get to them. These are not books that are upcoming 2017 releases, but older books that need your love and attention too!
Want to find out what my Top 5 Wednesday Books I Want to Finally Read in 2017 are?
Here are my selections in no particular order:
I have had this book since I graduated from high school, which I’m not even going to say when that was! Yes…I’ll admit it…I went through an Oprah Book Club phase, and this was one of those books. But unlike others, this one has been packed up and moved around from Texas to Hawaii and back so many times that it’s time that I either read it or get rid of it! This book takes place in rural Mississippi during 1943 and follows the story of a couple whose fifth child is born with Down’s Syndrome and how they ensure she has the best life possible.
In a galaxy far far away when my husband and I were first married, we agreed to read each other’s favorite book. Well, he read mine and I have yet to read his! I’m about a quarter of the way through, so 2017 will see me cross the finish line…finally! Classic epic fantasy with a huge 15 book commitment! Perhaps THAT explains why this is so daunting to me!
I haven’t had this one for too long and I really want to read it; however, I keep getting distracted by other books! Isn’t that THE problem of every book lover though! Another epic fantasy about a young man who grows up to be the most notorious wizard the world has ever seen.
This is the first book I received from my Owlcrate subscription in July of 2015 and I still haven’t read it! I was really excited about it since the author was also a librarian, but time just got away from me and I never picked it up. The story of my life apparently!

After reading
The Da Vinci Code and
Angels and Demons back in the day, I went through a phase of wanting to read stories of characters chasing down history’s secrets and this book was one of those. That was over ten years ago and it’s another one of those books that has been shuffled around the world and back again and I either need to read it or get rid of it. 2017 seems like as good a time as any other.
So those are my picks for this week’s Top 5 Wednesday! Are there any books you would like to finally read in 2017? Let me know in the comments!

I'm so sorry for the late reply! My notifications on Blogger are so weird – sometimes this platform is so clunky! I'm so glad you found some books to add! Yes, please tag me! Maybe we can do a buddy read for any of them!
