Greetings Fellow Book Dragons!
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme within the book community that was created by Lainey of GingerReadsLainey, but is now hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes. If you’re interested in participating, find out more on the Goodreads group.
This week’s topic is Fictional Jobs You’d Want to Have. I had so much fun with this! And don’t forget that these topics are always open to television and film, so let’s get to work!
Here are my selections in no particular order:
Small town librarian/amateur sleuth
This one comes from my love of cozy mysteries, especially those that feature librarians or book sellers that also find themselves the town’s crime fighter. I love these charming and idyllic communities where only one person specializes in a particular niche to meet everyone’s needs and everyone knows everyone. Unfortunately, the murder rate is so statistically incredible that no seemingly competent law enforcement official can make a difference, so the only hope rests in the hands of the town’s bibliophile. I would love the opportunity to help my fellow citizens with not only their reading needs, but solving mysteries as well without being held to any type of professional standard. Just save yourself the trouble, assume I know what I’m doing, and trust me. After all, I am a librarian!
Lighthouse keeper

While this is a real job internationally (no jobs exist in the US; you are rather a lighthouse preservationist), it’s a highly romanticized, and therefore, very highly unlikely one for me. I just adore the idea of being all alone in the middle of nowhere (with my family of course), surrounded by the ocean, and standing along with my lighthouse as a beacon to guide ships to safety.
Mother of Dragons

Holographic Rock musician

X-Files Special Agent

I once worked in a lighthouse, but only during the day. It was actually quite spooky! Lots of footsteps and weird noises when I was the only one in there.
