I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest and thoughtful review.
After being charmed by Cece in the previous installment, I was so excited to see what mess she was going to have to deal with this time around. And I wasn’t disappointed!
Cece continues to be a fantastic female lead and a highly believable accidental amateur sleuth, balancing her vulnerability with an admirable strength of character that keeps driving her forward to get things done. Although she is still reeling from the events within the first book, she is working through those emotions and focusing on overcoming those obstacles to produce a positive way forward for herself and those around her. I continued to enjoy the growing dynamics between Nancy and Cece, which definitely shows us just how much opposites can attract!
I’m a huge fan of shows like HOARDERS and BURIED ALIVE and have read plenty of fiction and nonfiction books featuring this disorder, so it was such a delightful surprise to begin reading and seeing its presence within Cece’s cleaning services. It was a fascinating aspect to include as not only a troubling aspect for both Cece’s job, but also within the criminal investigation as well.
This series remains a great addition within the cozy world and I am definitely settled in for more clean ups, light romance, and twisting tales of mystery that are incredibly difficult to put down!

Tricia L. Sanders writes cozy mysteries and women’s fiction. She adds a dash of romance and a sprinkling of snark to raise the stakes. Her heroines are humorous women embarking on journeys of self-discovery all the while doing so with class, sass, and a touch of kickass.
Tricia is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, so don’t get between her and the television when a game is on. Currently, she is working on a mystery series set in the fictional town of Wickford, Missouri. Another project in the works is a women’s fiction road trip adventure.
A former instructional designer and corporate trainer, she traded in curriculum writing for novel writing, because she hates bullet points and loves to make stuff up. And fiction is more fun than training guides and lesson plans.
